The World Heritage Site Otowagamine Kiyomizu-dera’s Important Cultural Property “Sutra Hall” becomes the pop-up venue for “elephants”!

Kyoto’s core select shop ‘elephants’ in Jumonji-cho, Nakagyo Ward, has secured special access to the ‘Sutra Hall’ – a significant cultural property within the World Cultural Heritage site Otowa-yama Kiyomizu-dera Temple, normally closed to the public.

A pop-up exhibition will be held there for a limited period from Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th November 2025. The hall, filled with tranquillity, will be fantastically illuminated, offering a unique spatial experience within this historic structure.

This exhibition features collection pieces from Maison Mihara Yasuhiro, whose line the shop began carrying for the Autumn/Winter 2025 season! Combined with a special display by COTODAMA, the Japanese speaker brand launched in 2016, a unique worldview is created.
