Promoting the entertainmentisation of social activities, the inaugural event ‘JAPAN DORAKU 2025’ was held over two days on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th September (a public holiday) at Kyoto’s UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the former imperial palace Nijo Castle. Performances were given by DJ DANTZ, who endorsed the theme, along with Makoto Yamamoto, inheritor of the Gosuwadaiko drum tradition; classical guitarist Kaori Muraji; singer Chris Hart; jazz pianist Takeshi Obayashi; and the Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra, a gamelan ensemble performing traditional Indonesian music. Fashion was represented by Seirin Kōshi, while art featured LESS, BUT BETTER, and Toufu Tokyo. The official T-shirts and socks from the highly acclaimed event are now available on the EC site! The limited-edition artwork was created by Osaka-based artist PATRICK HENGEN (Patorikku Henkan), known for his Apple Cycle Art pieces at LESS, BUT BETTER. The original body features odour-resistant, deodorising, and antibacterial properties. The Japanese-style tabi socks, designed around the concept of ‘cleanliness,’ are a special order for Bib Socks, which prides itself on being Made in Nara, Japan’s leading sock production area. Both items are available in limited quantities.
