Dior and UNESCO renew their partnership to promote women’s empowerment!

Founded in 1946 by haute couture designer Christian Dior, the House of Dior has been renowned from the outset for its diverse social commitments. Above all, the empowerment and independence of women form a key part of its DNA.

In 2020, the House entered into a partnership with UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) titled ‘Women@Dior & UNESCO’, supporting international mentorship and educational programmes for women. Furthermore, in March this year, the alliance was renewed with the aim of promoting the empowerment of women leaders and the preservation of savoir-faire (an aesthetic sensibility underpinned by craftsmanship).

The agreement was signed by Delphine Arnault, Chairwoman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture and member of the LVMH Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and Khaled El-Enany, Director-General of UNESCO. This initiative will shine an even brighter spotlight on the careers and futures of female role models (mentees) across specialist fields such as business, engineering, art, fashion, hospitality and global communications.
